The surprise factor might’ve been somewhat spoilt by the numerous leaks, but Under Armour still pressed ahead with a rather slick looking kit unveiling earlier this afternoon – although, still no sight of that elusive third kit. What we do now have are the confirmed home and away kits for next season, and you have to admire Under Armour’s presentation; no sign here of just one or two token players in the kit, they’ve only gone and got the whole squad in on the act.
Below is another showcasing both the home and away kits:
Points of interest are:
- Rafael van der Vaart was used as the foreground figure in the leaked promos for the away kit, but isn’t in the away kit photo released today. He is, however, in the full team photo, so maybe Under Armour just weren’t that comfortable with his slightly scary looking posing in the original release.
- Modric is also in the full team photo. Make of it what you will. Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe is not…
- They’ve tried really hard to hide Gomes in the full squad photo.
- No Jermain Defoe OR Jermaine Jenas in the full squad photo. Again, make of it what you will…
No official word from Under Armour on if/when there’ll be a third kit release, so we’ll just have to sit tight and wait on that one. But in the meantime, I think we can be pretty happy with their efforts on the home and away kits.
